I had an amazing stay at the Sawah Joglo Boutique Villa and Resort. The place might be a bit hard to find cos the place is a bit secluded. If you look for a quiet and relax place, less-crowded and non-glamorous to stay in, then this is the place for you. I stayed at the one room villa and the view from my room is the paddyfield. The sunrise is amazing at the dawn. The breakfast menu is ok, but just enough for me. The Botique owner was there greeting us in the morning so I guess it adds another value-add to the whole experience.

Was quite shocked with the service I received upon coming to Sawah Joglo on a travel trip with a couple of my university friends. Everyone was equally surprised as it was located somewhere in the midst of rice fields — something you don’t really see in Jogja anymore. The morning views were the best because you could see the Merapi Mountain (yes, the active mountain) in all it’s glory basking a full-fledged figure waiting to be ticked off. We actually got food at the restaurant at the villa as well and we were surprised at how juicy the pork rivs were! A must recommend for travellers who wanna wind down at night and just crack open a beer because oh boy the beer definitely complemented the ribs. We ordered the poka sauce baby back ribs and were sent straight to tropical nirvana…
